Welsh Beer Prize (www.welshbeerprize.com) has been set up to celebrate the very best of
brewing in Wales, recognising the skill, creativity, and passion of brewers across the country. So
we were really please that at the recent awards in September, Purple Moose Brewery came out
as the best of the best.

The ultimate winning beer is OPULENCE (brewed with a little help from Brewing Services Ltd) a
special edition beer brewed to raise a glass to 20 years of independent brewing at Purple Moose
(again started with a lot of help from Brewing Services Ltd) in 2006. Opulence crafted to mark
this milestone in true Purple Moose style with the same beer being brewed before being barrel
separately in Barbados Rum & Penderyn Distillery Whisky to produce two distinctly different
finishes to the beers in the glass
A commemorative pack featuring bottles of both beers along with a stemmed glass, perfect for a
celebratory pour, plus a gold-finish bottle opener makes for the ultimate birthday pop. Lawrence
Washington founder and owner at Purple Mooses says ‘This milestone belongs to everyone
who’s supported us on the journey, so we set out to create something truly special in return!’.
