Congratulations to Acorn Brewery, Cairngorm Brewery, Purple Moose Brewery and Old Farmhouse Brewery!
Plenty to celebrate this February:
Last week we saw CAMRA hold their 2025 Winter Beer Festival at Magna Science Adventure Centre near Sheffield and it was pleasing to see two of our breweries come away with gongs in their respective categories; Acorn Brewery won a bronze medal for Gorlovka Imperial Stout, 6.5%Alc., in the Strong Stouts and Porters category and Purple Moose Brewery who also won Bronze for Cwrw Ysgawen (Elderflower Ale) in the Speciality Beers Class.
We should also mention the overall Champion Winter Beer of Britain was Cairngorm’s Black Gold winner of the Session Stout category; a beer created some thirty years ago at Tomintoul Brewery before they merged with Aviemore Brewery to become Cairngorm Brewery. Nice to know good beers will always stand the test of time.
Another Welsh Brewery celebrating this month is Old Farmhouse Brewery in St.David’s whose Cwrw Kelp Lager, brewed with seaweed, has been chosen by non-other than Fortnum and Masons purveyors of fine foods to the Royal household to grace their shelves.
So well done to all and shows quality will always shine through.
